Four Great Things About ECLC

Four Great Things about the Early Childhood Learning Center

Catholic Identity and Faith Infused with Learning

The Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC) holds its Catholic identity as the program's foundation. The ECLC utilizes daily prayer, a religious curriculum, and weekly music classes which include liturgical songs to prepare students for developmentally appropriate prayer service and Mass. Catholic education in the classroom, combined with community service, allows the ECLC family to demonstrate their faith in action.

Academic Quality

The Early Childhood Learning Center offers a complete educational program starting with mommy and me toddler classes up to and including transitional kindergarten. The ECLC has favorable student to teacher ratios, state-of-the-art smart board technology, foreign language instruction, computer, movement and music classes and is in full compliance with the Ohio Department of Education.

Safety, Structure & Discipline

The Early Childhood Learning Center is a safe facility in which buildings are secure and students must be signed in and out. Before care and after care are offered daily. The ECLC encourages parents and families to be involved in field trips, celebrations and other classroom activities. Strong communication between the Program's Director, teachers and parents is evident with the One-Call Now System, monthly newsletters, and daily encounters.

Activities & Leadership

The Early Childhood Learning Center partners with area agencies and Catholic High schools to provide additional opportunities for continued growth. Our students participate in various field trips and enjoy classroom visits from librarians from the Mahoning County Library, personnel from the Mahoning County Green Team, students from local Catholic High Schools and interaction with community helpers. Additional educational and service opportunities are also made available throughout the year.
